A potli is a traditional fabric pouch with a softly gathered opening, secured by drawstrings. Often adorned with embroidery, beads, sequins or tassels, it combines the practicality of a small handbag with the decorative beauty of a treasured accessory.

Potlis have a long history in India. Simple cloth bundles carried everyday belongings, while smaller drawstring pouches held coins and valuables. Over time, these useful bags became richly embellished accessories, reflecting regional craft traditions—from Kutch embroidery to Bhopal beadwork. Today, they remain a beautiful companion to wedding and festive attire.

1. Siyah — Black & Gold Potli

Named for the Persian word for black, Siyah pairs a rich black velvet surface with luminous gold-toned beadwork. Stylized floral motifs rise along the base beneath a striking zigzag border, while scattered beaded accents add delicate sparkle. Its generous ruffled opening, braided golden drawstrings and circular beaded drops create a regal finish.

An elegant companion to a black sari, jewel-toned lehenga or evening ensemble.

Handmade. Only one piece available.

2. Chamanara — Aqua Floral Potli

Evoking an adorned garden, Chamanara brings together a soft aqua background and a lively tapestry of red, peach, yellow, navy and green embroidery. Golden threadwork and reflective sequins trace decorative bands around the bag, giving its colourful floral patterns a gentle shimmer. Braided gold-toned cords end in long aqua tassels that sway beautifully with movement.

A charming choice for mehndi celebrations, daytime weddings and pastel festive outfits.

Handmade. Only one piece available.

3. Surkh — Red Festive Potli

Named for its vivid red hue, Surkh is a celebration of colour and ornament. Multicoloured embroidered motifs mingle with gold-toned threadwork and sequins across its softly gathered silhouette. Golden braided drawstrings and flowing red tassels add richness and movement, creating a striking accompaniment to bridal and festive dressing.

Pair it with a traditional red lehenga, an ivory sari or an embroidered gold ensemble.

Handmade. Only one piece available.

4. Yasaman — Ivory Beaded Potli

Taking its name from jasmine, Yasaman captures the softness of an ivory bloom. Its plush velvet surface is embellished with metallic beadwork, delicate floral sprays and translucent petal-like accents. A pearl-like zigzag border lends definition, while the embroidered ruffled opening and round beaded drawstring drops complete its graceful silhouette.

A refined accessory for a nikah, an ivory bridal outfit or an understated evening sari.

Handmade. Only one piece available.
